Veneers are thin coverings placed on the front of teeth to improve and alter the appearance by changing the colour and shape of teeth as well as closing unsightly gaps. The veneers can be created from either a resin material or porcelain and are bonded to teeth. The veneers can be constructed either immediately whilst in the dental chair as a direct technique or indirectly via dental laboratory. The indirect method is carried out over two visits, with the first visit for preparation of the tooth/teeth and impressions. The impressions are sent to a dental laboratory for construction of the veneer(s) which is fitted at the second visit.
